covid-19

Dear Calvary Temple Friends and Family,

I pray that this communication finds you well!

Before I begin speaking about the service, I wish to take a moment to say “thank you” for your patience as the leadership team has met and prayed over the best way to proceed in the coming weeks. You have been all that is gracious, kind and supportive and we feel nothing but gratitude for your patience!

In the planning, we considered the biblical weight of God’s command to meet together for worship as well as how to execute the changes required to protect those we serve.

It is from this place of prayer and counsel that we make the following adjustments. First, let’s choose to:

  • Live cautiously – follow the guidelines for hygiene and social distance
  • Live confidently – remembering Jesus’ command, “Do not be afraid”
  • Live compassionately – use all the opportunities we have to serve others
  • Live calmly – sharing the peace that God gives with others.

While we will not have service for the next two weeks, as mentioned above, it is important to stay connected (gather) limited to the current guidelines released by the CDC.

  • Sunday – 3/22 & 3/29 – We are working behind the scenes to make possible at 10 am a video or audio of Fear Not- Parts 1 and 2, respectively. Fear Not is a series expounding on why we do not need to be afraid. Afraid of coronavirus or any other crisis that may arise.
  • As individuals – Invite a friend to participate in a discussion about the message, “Fear Not” and the application of the truth of God’s word.
  • As families: Utilize this opportunity to come together and worship. Consider inviting a neighbor to experience the message with you.
  • As Discipleship Groups: 11 am – 1 pm – T4T Groups 1 (Old group) and 2 (New group beginning) will meet in separate rooms. Group 1 in Large Fellowship Hall and Foyer, Group 2 in the smaller side of the Fellowship Hall.

Thank you again for your understanding as we prayerfully work through the best course of action for such a time as this. Let us not focus on the restrictions but on the opportunities being made for us to serve and save those around us and in our community, especially the elderly.

Grace and Peace,

Ray A. Ricketts
Senior Pastor
