Dear Calvary Temple Family:
Firstly, our prayer is that you and your family are safe and healthy and not impacted by the COVID-19 virus. This too shall pass….in Jesus name!
Secondly, since Calvary Temple is closed till April 11th, there are some things we should be doing as followers of Christ during this time and beyond:
1. PRAY – for a “hedge of protection” around our homes, entire church family, the Lehigh Valley, our nation and the world. James 5:16 “…The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
2. HELP – our friends, family and church family in need. We may not be safe to visit them, but a text or phone call to see how they are doing and if they need any assistance is helping in a small way. If you can afford it, even consider having food or a meal delivered to someone in need. Titus 3:14 And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.
3. Luke 6:38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” ). Unfortunately, unexpected situations like this (i.e., shutting down in-person services) impact our church financially. However, we trust that you will walk by faith and not by sight, and continue to give your tithes and offerings using our online tools (Pushpay). For those who haven’t tried giving via Pushpay (on your phone or computer), this is a great time to start! It is easy and secure and can be done from the comfort of your home or apartment.
As impactful as this virus has been thus far, our God is still sovereign and will work things out for our Good. Be a shining light in the darkness, be the optimist, not the pessimist, so that when someone asks why you are so positive, you have an opportunity to share the hope we have in Christ.
Stay Safe, Healthy and Prayerful,
Your Deacon Board
